The liner material used in making a portable pool from Really EZ Pools starts with a super durable and strong polyester woven core. Comprised of 1000 tiny polyester threads braided together to create a single strand (called 1000 Denier). These strands are then tightly woven together like a tapastry with 18 strands going both up and down. This is known as a 18 x 18 scrim.
Like a miniture chain link fence, this incredibly strong polyester woven core creates the basis of the liner's strength. Allowing the liner material to actually resist ripping and tearing. If you are familier with a steel chain-link fence, you will know how the links are woven together. If you cut a single link and try to expand the opening, the resistance from the neighboring links prevents it from expanding. The only way to make the opening bigger is to cut more links.
